I am usually thoughtful and I try not to be impulsive.
Sometimes, I’m only human and can be impulsive. It depends on what it is, what the circumstances are, what the reward is, what I’d have to give up in order to do it or have it.
@cruiser – exactly in my case also I have been guilty of trying to rationalise impulsive behaviour resulting in no reaction at all. This has hurt me many times as I tend to faulter in case of any surprises.
90% thoughtful, 10% spontaneous. Usually it starts with a spontaneous thought and then, depending on how serious the decision is, I start making lists and doing research.
Both. I’m pretty balanced but, am prone to impulse buying of cool artsy things, going for random massages, taking off on day trips and running out for take out dinners at times.
Too rigid is not good, too impulsive isn’t either.
Thoughtful. The downsides are that I’m not spontaneous (which is not generally as fun) and I’m prone to overthinking and worrying. The upsides are that my decisions are usually better made, but that’s not a guarantee.
My husband and I are polar opposites. He gets all spontaneous and shit, and I say, “OK.” And start planning for it in whatever time I have to do so. Needless to say it sometimes leads to tension and frustration, especially if I don’t have enough time to factor in everything.
