Have you purchased and sampled any really good buckets of food for a disaster?

My daughter pointed to our two food buckets and said, “you will never eat any of that.” Of course , she may be right. But I admit we do have two buckets and I guess we got lucky years ago when we tried the pancakes and they were delicious!
Have you tried any survival food buckets? On a one to ten scale how would you rate the food?

I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a survival food bucket.

I have tried a few military MRE Meals Ready To Eat that I bought surplus. I see they are for sale at amazon.
Each meal comes with all sorts of little packets and supplies they are kind of fun. And they are ~1200–1400 calories per meal so you can split it with someone easily.

I thought they were pretty good. You will not waste them.
Try one or two. You can get them at a nearby Army Navy store for $5–7.per meal.

Update: I just read some of the comments from that amazon seller and some people got knock-offs. Be aware.

@Aster I’d be interested in knowing what brand, or where you purchased your “bucket of food”.

I have. If you’re planning to only save it for emergency situations, spend the extra money and make sure that it was packed in nitrogen. That way it will keep indefinitely. Here’s a link, ( I know nothing about these people). https://www.buyemergencyfoods.com/products/premium-720-serving-package

The alternative is to use it up before it goes bad and then buy more.

I tried most of my sample $149.99 pail of mountain house food
Most where perfect. I liked all except the biskets and gravy. Granola with milk and blueberries was exceptionaly good.
