I need some ideas for church names?
I’m writing a book about God and I’m not trying to copyright anyone, but I also need two church names. The main character is a Christian if that helps at all.

How about Horn Lake Mississippi Missionary Baptist Church. You can change the name of the state and the lake.
To copyright is to secure the right to make copies of something, like to publish the work. Copyright law protects someone’s work from unauthorized reproduction and distribution. You can’t copyright a title, much less the name of a church. “Plagiarize” doesn’t fit either.
I think you just mean you want a fictitious name—and you’re free to make up any name you please. How about the name of the street your mother lived on when you were born? or your grandfather’s middle name? There you go.
What kind of christian is he?

The First United Church of Jesus H. Christ
Seriously though, I don’t think you have to fret too much about it. Most church names are fairly generic. Just take the name of the street/neighborhood/city, add the denomination and there you go. For a little extra flair maybe add “first” or “united” or some-such to the beginning and something like “brethren” or “congregation” to the end.
There is no copy write on church names, I don’t think.
Also, what denomination of Christianity is your main character?
CopyRIGHT = RIGHT to copy.
Holy Trinity Church
First Church of The Good Shepherd
New Hope Church
Holy God Almighty Church.
Calvary Church
Community Church
Church of God
First Evangelical Church
It would help to know the denomination.

I always liked the ring of the “Lake of Fire Primitive Baptist Church of Christ Redeemer”.

Look at the names of three churches and pick one word from the name of each. Honestly, church names aren’t copyrighted and are often very similar in nature. Another option is to pick some generic name such as “Church of Christ” and add the name of the town/city it is in. Example: Church of Christ of Anywhereville.
Was it Vonnegut who had “The Church of God the Utterly Indifferent”?
The character is a Christian, but she is an independent Christian.
[Mod says] General question folks, please keep to the question as asked and make your replies helpful.
If the church is independent, then you’d want to avoid the various names that indicate otherwise. So (Place Name) Church, or (Christian Principle Adjective) Church (of God) are likely possibilities.
Is this book a drama or a comedy??
Independence Church. Church of the Independent.
How about “The Eye of God Church?” With everything these days being so technical, the church’s Sunday services could be presented of a HUGE TV screen.
@kritiper I’m picturing a church full of yarn God’s eyes, or Greek glass evil eyes.
@JLeslie You’ve never heard a TV called “the eye of God??”
I have never heard televangelism called The Eye of God.
Not the show, just the box. The set. The receiver. The thing that contains the TV screen.
