I don’t want to meet any dead people. Let’s get that straight right from the start.

My list is just too long for a single post :D

Seriously, many of my idols are people from long long ago. I just have a taste for people in the past.

I want to meet them all in heaven, if heaven exists, especially those idols who are lesser known. They deserve extra credit.

Oh, I’m not scared, @djbabybokchoy. It’s just that I have met dead animals, most of them smaller than humans, and they stink to high heaven. I don’t want to meet bigger dead animals who have human faces. And anyway, the conversation would be too one-sided.

Maya Angelou

Still I Rise
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Benjamin Franklin was brilliant, passionate, sexy. He cared deeply about science, humanity, advancement.
I would love to win a date with a fifty year old Ben.

@Patty_Melt Well if the rumors are true, you might end up pushing up daisy’s. There has been talk that he was involved in sex slavery and ritual sacrifices with some weird occult group when he resided in England.

I would like to meet Moses, Jesus, and Mohamed, fill them in on the current situation, and ask them to tell their followers to behave with human decency.

Patty_Melt's avatar

@NomoreY_A, that was in his youth. When passion and youth are moxed with curiosity, there is sometimes behavior regretted later.
His time in France refined his curiosity to pleasure and a deepening interest in the understanding of women, and the intricacies of satisfying a variety of appetites.

This is so hard! Someone I find very charming but not saintly like John Travolta. lol I’m really busy so I’d only chat with him for a few hours.

PullMyFinger's avatar

My mother-in-law adores John Travolta. She met him in a NY drugstore while they were both picking up prescriptions, and he was very friendly and polite to her.

To quote her, verbatim whenever his name comes up: “OH, that John Travolta !!”......
