I really don’t think most women would abuse this privilege any more than people abuse access to sick leave now. If you’ve employed the right people, they won’t abuse such a privilege. My husband has his own business and here, we have much better sick leave that I suspect you do in the US, his workers rarely ever take a day off sick. Just because they know he’s a good boss. He looks after them. They have respect for the company they work for and they wouldn’t want to abuse his good nature. In my experience that covers many years of work in many different workplaces, it is a very small minority that abuse their access to sick leave.
