Congress is currently like a team that always loses, and cynically begins to imagine that they never will. So they train badly, play badly, and guarantee failure. They forget how to win, so they don’t try.
They should find an issue that all constituents, regardless of party, think is important and go to work on it and not quit until they come up with solution that both sides can vote on. Infrastructure, health care, immigration, raising the retirement age to save SS, – whatever it is that there is the best chance of success.
Otherwise, they will simply assume that nothing can happen until they control every branch. Which won’t happen, but even if it does, it won’t be permanent.
