Do you know of any chaotic/problematic characters in literature that transform through looking inwards?
Like someone who is shouting and blaming others and seeking conflict outside because they have inner conflict that they havent looked into. And once they look into it and direct their attention inwards the conflict they have thats full of aggression sort of diffuses. Is there a great piece of literature with this character?

Hmm, Dr. Strange?
How about Tony Stark?
Well, Sydney Carton in A Tale of Two Cities is not outwardly angry but he is debauched and depressed until his transformation and resurrection at the end. And Mr Rochester in Jane Eyre is very harsh until the fire and love transform him. In Shakespeare, there’s The Taming of the Shrew.
In a number of his books, Lee Child’s character Jack Reacher – who has lived a rough and tumble scattered life – thinks back to the lessons he has learned and the struggles that he has been in, in order to come out on top.
