Does United States have something like a Notwithstanding Clause?

By “why not?”, I don’t mean it makes sense to have it, or that it doesn’t.

From what I see it’s part of the Canadian constitution. I don’t think the US has anything comparable.

No, the US Constitution does not have an equivalent clause. The US actually has an opposite clause in the 10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Thank you @zenvelo. Sounds to me like it means if it isn’t specifically covered in the constitution or in state law, it’s up to the people, @flo.
