Used to think Coppola’s film was a great adaptation but through the years it changed how I look at it.

An R rated, live action version of Hellsing Ultimate, directed by Paul Verhoeven.

^^Verhoeven should be working, agree.

I don’t think there has been a filmed version showing how incredibly charismatic he was. Probably the closest was Frank Langella.

I thought the film version with Gary Oldman was Dracula came closest to following the book. The book was great and I hate it when a movie comes out that takes a great story and changes it all around, but keeps the title. The Shining with Jack Nicholson was like that. I liked the mini-series they did with Rebecca DeMornay and Steven Webber much better…it was more true to the book.

^^Might check that Shining version out. Thanks.

@filmfann I’m ashamed to admit I don’t remember how the Count was depicted as charismatic in the book. I need to read it again. Been a while. Too long a while considering it’s one of a few favorites.
