One’s apology, if it is sincere, really shouldn’t effect sentencing.
If I am truly remorseful, I wouldn’t mind life in prison (or whatever he gets) for such a heinous act.
One other caveat here: If he was fleeing in terror in his car and accidentally ran over some people because his car was being bashed in and he feared for his life, accidentally killing people, or having an me-or-them survival mode mentality in a moment of panic, I could understand. But evidently, this was not the case.

@ragingloli the driver WAS a neo-Nazi, not a conservative. And the woman he ran over was from a family that supported Trump, though the woman (victim) herself was on the side that opposed the Confederate memorial.
