@dabbler Both legal. I’ve just no qualms about using the ‘pro-abortionist’ label.
There’s 7.5 billion of us terrorised by the realisation our mortality, fouling up the planet, and causing misery for each other in various ways. I’m unpersuaded that human life has any particular “intrinsic value” or is deserving of preservation for the sake of it—it’s not like we’re an endangered species (yet).
Humans in a prenatal state are worth even less. A foetus has no social status, no memories, no life experiences, no associations, is likely non-sentient. A pet cat is worth more than someone’s “unborn child”. A cow is worth more. A pig is worth more.
And yet “pro-lifers” are rarely ever vegans, and many are supporters of capital punishment. I can reasonably infer that they do not seriously believe in a “sanctity of life”, or that humans have some innate and universal right to life, because “pro-lifers” do place life on a hierarchy, within our species, and between it. And for some “pro-lifers”, a foetus, or even a blastocyst is more worthy of preservation than an adult human.
