What is a skill that you are glad to have—even if you rarely use it?

“Great Question” (2points)

What is the skill?
Who taught you?
Do you think it’s something everyone should know?
When was the last time you had to use this skill?
Do you wish you used this skill more often?
Or are you relieved that you haven’t had to use this skill?

As I’ve stated before, I have a talent for hurting people. That deserve it.

My father was special forces, and I am an expert in boxing, and some mma. I developed most of these skills, because I was frequently bullied, in school.

Now. It is a curse. And employers, just want me for that. I have a great reputation for being a great bouncer/LEO. But I hate hurting people. I have my Mother’s angelic heart, but my DNA’s purpose of being a warrior. I don’t pride myself in the skill. It’s kept me out of lots of problems. But, it is all people see me as…

I have so far, been lucky enough, not to have been beaten down, by often multiple people. I was a bouncer, for many years. I fought 13 bikers once. They had knives, and chains. I took care of business, and was actually sued by them… I won my court case. But I hurt a lot of men, and at least one woman.
I have been trained by multiple people. All experts, in their field. And my size, strength, helped. I am glad, in a way, that I can do what I do, but I also hate it.

I haven’t had to use the skills, in around a year, or more. But what I did to some men, haunts me, to this day.

I am capable of doing lots of things great. But hand to hand combat, is sadly my greatest talent probably.

I do think everyone, should have some self defense skills. But not what I know…

I can applaud with my bare feet.
Self taught.
Yes, sometimes one’s hands are too busy.
This morning, my husband sang me a song so it had to be acknowledged.
Any reason to applaud is good, so yes.
My husband is relieved that I don’t often do that in public.

I have the same skills as @MrGrimm888

But I think I have a different attitude about it.

It’s sort of like being able to dunk a basketball.
It’s great on a basketball court, but other than that, so what.
I’m not going to try to dunk a basketball in the local bar.

Full disclosure-I know how to kill, but I can’t dunk anymore. It has nothing to do with age. I think they raised the basket.

I can balance brooms on my fingers and switch to palm and back to finger. I can balance chairs on my fingers and switch to palm and back to finger.

@josie . Do you mind if I ask, even if you answer vaguely, what do you do for a living?

I’ve been trying to change my career, but haven’t had much luck, as far as something profitable….

I can use the terms autodidacticism and opsimath in the one sentence and not even blink.

My adroitness extends to being able to snap the right finger and thumb, then the left finger and thumb, followed by clapping the right hand onto my left fist with such rapidity that it sounds like a heard of tiny hoofed goblins are galloping upstairs.

Under the guidance of my personal trainer, I have learned to recite Pi to 31 decimals, any more would be an absurdity, if not transcendental and irrational.

I can juggle two objects with aplomb, although I occasionally drop the pretense.

Emotional yo-yoing with or without a yo-yo.
