@josie :: I love the blue box. I would go as far as saying it actually saved me.
When my mouth was really bad from the radiation I hit the point where I wasn’t able to swallow Ativan. And I needed my benzos.
But what happened was my throat, through a combination of not “getting exercise” and radiation destroying everything pretty much lost its ability to function. So I saw my speech/throat person and they said I need to start getting stuff down no matter how much it hurt. And If I didn’t start soon they would do it for me. And by do it for me I mean that they put a balloon down your throat and inflate and deflate it a bunch of times. So fuck that. I have a hard enough time with a endoscope.
But enter the blue box. It is what I used to get my throat back in action. #1.. It is delicious and a comfort food. #2.. I was able to dial up the firmness of the noodles. At first I overcooked them so they were bloated garbage. Then gradually worked my way to Al dente (how I like them). #3.. And I can control the milk. At first I made it really soupy. Then less milk as I went on.
I have eaten hundreds of boxes of the blue box in the last year. I was doing three a day. I still really like it.
But now that the blue box got my throat working again I have moved on to baked ziti and hash browns.
