By the contact list. Call mom or dad and have them vouch for you. Knowing passwords would help.

Show my phone app, point out my daughters’ phone numbers, call them

My phone has a fingerprint scanner. I’m the only person who can get into it. Takes maybe 2 seconds

Lock then unlock it

My phone unlocks by holding it up to my face. I pick it up, look at the screen and it unlocks.

By showing some of the selfies I took with my grandkids.

Put a couple of stickers on it.
Enable and use the fingerprint scanner.
Mark it with a Sharpie Marker, either silver or black . (I marked mine to show where the charging cord goes and indicate where the cameras are located.)

I have my phone set to default to my fingerprint. As I pick up my phone, my thumb automatically goes to the scanner, so the phone opens on pickup.

There is no place where the provider of service shows name of person and the phone number?

@flo Not in the phone.

Under settings all the way down to about phone, it gives the phone number but doesn’t list the owner’s name. They have another set of numbers that will identify the owner to the service provider but the name doesn’t show on the phone and it isn’t info the service provider will readily provide to anyone so it wouldn’t be fast

I have a landline and an old-fashion flip phone.

The proof that it’s my landline phone is that it’s inside my house and connected to an interior jack. I bought it in November, 1995, and I think I still have the receipt.

For my phlip phone, I’d enter #768, and then enter my account password.

@flo Have you contacted your service provider??? They might have a way to change your city & state to your name. I wouldn’t want that, but it might work for you.

@SEKA -”...but the name doesn’t show on the phone and it isn’t info the service provider will readily provide to anyone, so it wouldn’t be fast.” So, it wouldn’t be immediate, but possible then. How though?
“another set of numbers that will identify the owner to the service provider to the service provider ” Identify the owner by what? Not the name? Then by what? Edited

By the way the other ways finger print etc. don’t work for every cellphone.

How do you show it’s your phone
Jellies who replied with “finger prints” in their answers most probably were talking about their phone (as was asked).

Not all cellphones have fingerprint feature. And not all the cellphone have info in them yet (selfies, contacts) because they were just bought, like a minute ago.

@rebbel See my last post.

I realize that, but you asked us about our phones, not a phone.

flo's avatar

@rebbel Oh ok, I meant “how do people in general ...”

Re. _” They might have a way to change your city & state to your name“__
Where does provider say your location? And can’t it be both?
Re. “I wouldn’t want that, but it might work for you.“_ Why? I’m thinking it can be made to not be accesed by someone else as a security feature.
@SEKA I guess not all cellphones have the number under Phone or About Phone. If they don’t attach the number to the owner anyone else can use it?
