No @LadyMarissa. Read @Hawaii_Jake‘s link. It doesn’t mean to strike anything from the record, although it sounds that way. It’s just some, probably archaic, formality that means “It’s my turn to talk.”
If it meant to strike something from the record there would BE no record.

I found a friend on Facebook a few years ago who is incredibly savvy about the workings of the government. I asked her this question earlier, but she just now responded: ”The short explanation is that that basically just gives the person saying it five minutes to debate an amendment that they are proposing. For example: Gaetz asked to remove former Vice President Joe Biden as the target of the Ukraine investigation. If he moves to strike the last word then he gets five minutes to explain why and debate the reasons why that change should be made. Of course, doing that makes them hope that they can reduce the chances that Trump will be found guilty.”
