What's with people hanging out in the nonworking chat rooms?

No details needed the chat rooms are broken and yet there are people just hanging out in them, is it some kind of a protest?

I was wondering that myself. I don’t dare go in there, I might get locked in, and never get back out. Either that, or they turned it into a big holodeck, and in that case, count me in!

You can still leave the chat room, they just don’t work every time I try and say something I just get a blank screen.
