I liked Benazir Bhutto.
She became the first female president of Pakistan.
A female as head of state, in a moslim country.

@rebbel- Congratulations! You are the first male to have answered this question! :D

@lucillelucillelucille Yay!
I do feel my feminine side more today though…. ;-)

I would have to go with Carter. Not the best President. But probably the best person that has ever been President.

@johnpowell- I’m looking for accomplishments backed by objective reasoning.

The president I’ve had the most fun reading about is JFK. I think he is most certainly overrated, but I also think it’s important that he was the first president to view civil rights as a moral issue. I think he would’ve accomplished a lot more if he had not been assassinated. (Important civil rights legislation that passed under Johnson was drafted under Kennedy).

I think FDR is probably the most accomplished.

@lucillelucillelucille “I’m looking for accomplishments backed by objective reasoning.”

You’re asking a subjective question, however.

@Darth_Algar -I’m also asking for facts:What did he specifically accomplish while in office?
Have these legacy items held up?

That’s the problem: you’re still asking for opinions. An opinion is, by it’s nature, subjective. For instance, one could point to the creation of Social Security as one of Franklin Roosevelt’s most significant legacies. That might seem like an accomplishment. However many folks consider Social Security to be nothing more than a government-ran Ponzi scheme.

Lincoln and Kennedy were the best spoken, and most thoughtful. JFK especially projected education, reason, and an appreciation for the arts.
FDR certainly brought the country back from ruin. Obama did that as well, to a lesser degree.
Teddy Roosevelt had verve and vision.

Obama.
For his charisma, honesty & being the first black man to bag the gig.
Also, during his speeches he whistled his S’s…this amused my tiny mind!

Bill Clinton. The positives of welfare reform and a long-awaited budget surplus were important to me.

Additionally many of us truly liked the scamp.

@Darth_Algar – By all means,voice your opinion on who your fav pres. is/was. then if you would be so kind, state what you think that pres. accomplished while in office and what you think their legacy will be. :)

Clinton. He expanded the EIC when my husband and I so desperately needed it as young working poor parents.

George Washington. He was instrumental in freeing the country. And he didn’t campaign for office. That I am aware of.
The only TRUE democracy related POTUS.

I loved Bill, and Obama. Obama would likely have been much more successful, if he didn’t inherit the GW dumpster fire, and have to deal with the obstructionist GOP…

@lucille

I just said it.
