Why yes I would, thank you!
<—-This is my girl Jessie who is a boxer. She’s 10 years old and getting a little gray and a little slower. I’ve had her 8 years and she owns my heart.

@chyna I LOVE boxers and old dogs, so Jessie’s a winner in my book! Wish I could see her beautiful face though!

I changed my profile to my boy, Teddy, the little prince who refuses to get his paws wet, hides from bath time and will crap in the house when mad at me, and it’s vengeful! 8 years old, rescue.

My Emmy is 13 years old, gray muzzle, too. Black lab and chow mix who I just got three years ago because no one loved her. She hates hugs, loves naps, and lives for snacks and outside time.

We used to have birds but I re-homed them last year during a tumultuous time.

Teddy is beautiful!

@chyna Here’s my Emmy aka Lou Lou. I can resist Teddy, but not my sad old gal. She has me wrapped around her paw. :D

I bet your boxers eyes are magnificent, too.

<—This is Mr. Shaggy B. He is part Yorkie and part something else. He showed up in the neighborhood and we ended up with him. Personality-wise, he is an old man in a little dog’s body

@seawulf575 Awww, what a cutie pie!

You sound like me, we have a one-level with fenced yard and no stairs and no kids, so we’re the ‘retirement home’....haha!

This is my girl. She’s a mix mutt rescue. Mostly Chihuahua but has long legs and hops and runs around like a tiny gazelle. In this picture she is happily laying down with my hubby. Whenever I go near her and she’s in my husbands arms she always stretches her legs out to push me away. She’s very possessive.

@Pandora That underbite is adorable! :)

@KNOWITALL My S-I-L always makes fun of it. When he bugs me I always say I’m going to sick her on him and he always say, oh, no not the piranha! Some days her underbite doesn’t show and other days it’s extremely noticeable. More so when her head is tilted up. They listed her as a biter and we were her second adoption in less than a week. It really annoyed me that she was listed as a biter. We got her from a kill shelter. I have a feeling if we didn’t adopt her and she was returned they would put her down. She would bite but little warning bites if you teased her and she was teething and nervous and would chew at everything. It only took me a month to train her not to bite and 3 months to teach her to relieve her stress and itchy gums on chewing toys. She never bit hard enough to break skin. She just had those sharp baby teeth. Which is also why my SIL called her Piranha.

It makes me sad to think that with a little bit of patience some of these dogs could have homes. Now she is a sweet lovable pup that knows the difference between play and danger and is great with kids. I had my cousin’s kids over and they roughed house with her and she would follow them everywhere and never bit them. Of course, I watched them though because she was more in danger of them harming them than the other way around since shes a small dog.

@Pandora Well SIL’s mean, I love it!! Poor little thing, so glad you got him. Sounds like you love yours like I love mine hee hee!
My male was adopted into a home that alrwady had an adult male Sharpei and he almost died. My coworker was going to take him back to the shelter and showed me a pic. That was the moment I fell in love. His bottom teeth are small and crooked, adorable.

Yeah, I hadn’t planned on adopting that day. My previous dog had to be put down because his kidneys were failing. My heart was pretty banged up from his loss but 9 months in a house without a dog made it feel worse. I just wasn’t sure if I was ready to love another dog and go through that again. But my husband and daughter convinced me to just take a “look”, no commitment. Just a look-see. Then they made me feel guilty about leaving her behind and how she may be gone tomorrow if I didn’t take her home today. I was fine, but I’m not going to love her. She’s nothing like my first dog but in time she took over my heart with her own unique personality. She is as sweet as my first baby though.

^I felt the same way! They work their way in and there’s nothing you can do about it. I love your pupper!

Ok, finally got a new pic of her with her gray hair.

My current pet is a black Labrador named “Wilson”. He’s 5 and would have made an excellent hunting companion. Fast, very responsive, learns quickly. He’s chill in the house, though he does rifle through grocery shopping if we leave it on the floor. Luckily, not a counter surfer.

The best thing about him is his happy nature. When we’re on a walk, he sniffs around and plays with utter joy. He’ll jump up in the air to catch a frisbee or herd a soccer ball around the field with his nose for as long as I let him.

Wilson likes all (friendly) dogs and most people. When he’s being petted, he’ll flop over and become totally zen even in a busy street. He’s also an inspiration in his conflict resolution. When he lies in the backyard eating a bone, a neighbors’ dog sometimes comes in. There’s no growling – Wilson just clamps his jaws down on the treat, gets up, and relocates to his bed in the house. I like that mixture of total confidence (“mine!”) and peacekeeping skills.

Some things he doesn’t like include scary dogs, getting a shower, and cats. He’s mournful about the first two, but quite excited about the last one.

@chyna Such a pretty lady!!! Love that face!

@longgone Sounds wonderful. Hard to beat a labs disposition. Love to see a pic sometime!

I’m changing my old gals diet, she’s got a few lipoma’s as the breed is predisposed, so going to more raw feeding and fish to keep her comfy.
