So 16 red states have joined Texas in the dunce cap contest before the Supreme Court. Can you believe it?

“Great Question” (4points)

Thank God the courts appear to be all that is left between mental retardation and the rrule of law. How many courts must struggle to politely phrase the sentence: “you people are too stupid be believed!” I swear I do not understand how so many Americans manage to summon the intellect required to inhale or exhale. This shit is now beyond frustrating. It is truly frightening to witness. On and on without interruption, just never ending displays of just how truly stupid we are. Doesn’t this scare the shit out of the rest of you?

Yes.

He’s not going to be done before somebody’s life is lost to gratify him. I’m guessing it’ll be one of his own so his troops will have their own martyr. As for how far he’ll go beyond human sacrifice, that’s anyone’s guess.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

The supreme court is stacked with conservatives. Maybe the GOP hope to get a favor.

jca2's avatar

Desperate times call for desperate measures. He’s desperate.

Nomore_lockout's avatar

Yes I believe it. These asshats want a one party state. Of course you will still have a choice. You can vote Republican, or even Republican. More than likely a one party Theocratic state. Maybe try to get some snake oil salesman type Televangelist in the WH. I wouldn’t put anything past these fucking morons,

@RedDeerGuy1

Which is funny, because they’ve already more or less told Trump’s people to get fucked once. Trump expects that Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett will be loyal to him personal because he appointed them to the bench. I’ve already seen Trump cultists on Twitter, Facebook saying that Trump should fire them. Apparently these jackfucks have no understanding of what “lifetime appointment” means.

Jeruba's avatar

@Darth_Algar, if they think the justices are all in effect Trump’s employees, and Congress too, and also all of us—in other words, that he’s the CEO of the U.S. and we are all, every one of us, his subordinates: well, he thinks so too.

jca2's avatar

In the NY Times, they pointed out that the same election that elected these other idiot officials is the election they are saying was fraudulent when it came to electing Biden.

Nomore_lockout's avatar

Figures.

JLeslie's avatar

I can’t believe it. I think it needs to be reported in the news, but they should not give these antics as much press as they do.

@Darth_Algar In all fairness the Democrats were having a hard attack that Trump was stacking the court,

stanleybmanly's avatar

And yet, even with his stacking of the courts, his CONSERVATIVE judges are openly incredulous at the blinding stupidity of their former brethren who formerly championed them and thrust them into office.

Jeruba's avatar

@JLeslie, “heart attack”?

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Well thank goodness these judges are actually up holding the law,and not licking Trump’s ass as the other Rep/cons in this ridiculous law suit.

Darth_Algar's avatar

@JLeslie

Relevance?

Pandora's avatar

Apparently, the attorney general of Texas who started this was accused back in early November of corruption, bribery, and abuse of office. So I take it he is hoping to get a pardon from Trump for this act of sedition.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

I heard that exact same theory @Pandora ^^^^^^^

JLeslie's avatar

Heart attack.

@Darth_Algar Relevance is the left cable “news“ media was hysterical that Trump was stacking the court to help Trump in the election (and help pass right wing issues like overturning abortion and gay rights let’s put that aside). Ted Cruz even said they need a ninth in case the election goes to the Supreme Court.

Lots of Democrats were freaking out that Trump is using the courts to take over the country and become a dictator and now we are going to criticize republicans who are hoping for it and think it’s a possibility as idiots? Just as many Democrats worried about it.

I’m just both sets of people have hysteria about the same thing; about the justices being appointed by Trump and the election.

mazingerz88's avatar

Apparently all it took for the SC judges to make a decision and say NO to the deplorables was 34 minutes. trump snatches that record speed again. Another WIN!

Nomore_lockout's avatar

Deplorables – I like that, even though I’m not big on Hillary. I think she played a large part in screwing over Bern four years ago. But it ain’t over till the fat lady sings. Sanders 2024 – feel the Bern!!!!

si3tech's avatar

Yes and for good reason.

Demosthenes's avatar

It will fail, just as every other attempt to overturn the result of this election has failed.

janbb's avatar

@mazingerz88 They ruled out the Pennsylvania case; have they ruled on the latest one any more?

I truly cannot fathom how anyone can still believe that Trump cares about anything except saving his own hide.

Demosthenes's avatar

So much for that

Guess it’s not a “MAGA Court” after all.

janbb's avatar

^^ Wonderful!

Darth_Algar's avatar

@JLeslie

Yeah, I understood exactly what you were say, but I fail to see the relevance to what I said. I’m mainly referring to Trump’s Twitter-tantrums against the SCOTUS, including the judges he appointed, when they rule against him and his sycophants falling in line behind him to spout their vitriol.

Sometimes I think in your eagerness to throw the “both sides” card you miss the point altogether.

Brian1946's avatar

Now that the SCOTUS has ruled against Trumpomania, I again wonder if he’ll entertain the notion of trying to “fire” them.

janbb's avatar

Monday is the 14th and we will have a new President to be inaugurated These accusations of illegitimacy are very damaging to our democracy.

mazingerz88's avatar

@janbb Seems the trump mock-American Democracy-rampage will have another go at it at the SC. The “big one” these deplorables called it.

janbb's avatar

@mazingerz88 I don’t see how they can at this point. Monday is Electoral College day.

mazingerz88's avatar

^^They better not play games on Monday.

janbb's avatar

^^ Agree!

Nomore_lockout's avatar

Guess all we can do is watch and wait. But I wouldn’t put anything past these ass clowns.

mazingerz88's avatar

^^Nope. Now I know the answer to this question that had been nagging me for so many years. Now I know exactly who let the dogs out.

Demosthenes's avatar

So first Republicans turn on Fox News, now the SCOTUS is the enemy. What happened to Strong Conservative Woman Amy Coney Barrett? It’s the right’s version of “cancel culture”.
