Absolutely, my dear. You are a grownup and can with impunity eat treats before—or instead of—a proper meal. After I became a parent, I often indulged in four cookies right before dinner. I think I mainly relished the idea of getting away with something.
My son, when he was about six, caught me at it once. I told him he was looking at adult hypocrisy: I could indulge, but he wasn’t allowed.
