Because this is a stupid Getty image and I can’t seem to reverse it properly.

They are STICKY. My dog had HUNDREDS of them on him!!!!! HUNDREDS!!!!!!!!!?

Buckeye and Chestnut trees have sticky buds.

I image-searched and came up with cottonwood.
