This question is about a hypothetical situation, but it has actually happened to me.
The online game I play has a “partner” feature. So basically they occasionally recruit Youtubers who have content about their game as “partners” to help promote the game through their uploads. Players who become partners have the bright “partner” word on top of their username. They are very easy to spot.
I have been avoiding those partners like a plague. They are vapid narcissists at best and con men who trick children into questionable stuff at worst. I will automatically judge any account that has the “partner” logo on it, no matter the context.
I wish I could do more than just avoiding them, because a lot of them are genuinely harmful. But I really don’t know what I can do beyond avoiding them. The people who recruit those partners really should at least take a look at what they really upload on their channels instead of counting how many videos they pump out a day to match their criteria.
