I am incredibly bad at the most basic spelling rhyme – i before e except after c. I CANNOT get them right. To be fair, the rhyme is complete bullsh—as there are way more exceptions than the ones listed.

@Entropy Like “weird”? Weird is the exception.

I used to get compliments on my handwriting. Now it’s terrible. I blame it on keyboards.

What misstakes don’t I make? The chioce is yours to pick out how often it is i make these goofs. Good thing I can “normally” see them or let grammerly find them four me. ha

Sometimes I write “your” instead or “you’re,” but it’s not confusing to me at all which is correct, it’s just typing too quickly. Same with “they’re, there, their,” I’ve never had trouble with which one to use, but it’s just typing too fast. Sometimes it’s autocorrect, and I don’t catch the mistake.

Spelling “definitely” I have to really slow down and be very deliberate.

@JLeslie, every time I see someone write “definately,” I think of Gail. She was death on that error. It helps to think of finite, which is related.

@Jeruba At one point my phone was autocorrecting me to the incorrect spelling. It was so frustrating.

There is a sargeant, and there is a sergeant at arms, and recently I spelled it as “sargeant at arms” which a friend had a good time ribbing me about.
