Oooh, yes. My favourite Indian place sadly shut down during the pandemic, but I’ll go with the local burger restaurant instead. They make the best burgers ever. The ingredients are really fresh and interesting. For example, they have a blue cheese burger, a spicy Kahuna burger, a Toscana burger and, my favourite, a burger with their great sauce, arugola, fried organic egg, and lots of fried mushrooms. What’s different about their burgers is that they all taste homemade. None of those too-fluffy buns or wilted lettuce. The patties are crunchy (the veggie ones, too), and everything is customizable. I get sweet potato fries and their organic lemonade, and I’m good. Plus, I like their style. Comfortable armchairs, lots of blues and whites.

TJBM will tell us about their colour scheme.

I can really only describe it as 50 shades of grey. Living room, kitchen and bedroom are all gray, but not the same shades.
The JBM has too many Knick knacks.

It’s funny you should mention that, because I actually don’t. My home is relatively knick knack free. I do have a collection of perfume (cologne to the uninitiated) that I just bought a display shelf for, so that’s new and taking up space. My cat was very suspicious of the new shelf.

I do, but it’s a bit of a drive from where I live. Port Aransas. A ferry ride away from Aransas Pass on Padre Island. TJBM has a favorite summer hang out as well.

I must confess, I do. Veteran jellies may recall me mentioning the Edisto River. Blackwater through dense Swamp. Most of it is only a couple feet deep, and it’s nice and cool year-round, even in July and August. It’s great for me and my canoe.

Breakfast on Saturday? Probably a Strawberry Max Protein Ensure, mixed with 2% milk. 30 grams of protein, 25 vitamins and minerals, but only 1 gram of sugar and 150 calories. I hate preparing food, and I developed a habit of drinking one meal a day, since I was 17 years old. Right now. I can’t beat MPE, at $12 a four pack. $3 for breakfast, and I can work while drinking it incrementally? Winning!...

Yes, if by “cared for” you mean been supportive and helpful, run errands/shopped for/taken to appointments. I have not been a full-time caregiver for anyone in that situation. But the good news is that most of us haven’t needed full-time care, just kindness and people helping out.

Twice, it had metastasized. Then four months of chemo. (Gained 15 pounds by having a fourth meal most days, couple of slices of pepperoni pizza and a Heineken Dark beer.)

I do. I was four or five. My father was running along holding the bike. When I realized he had let go I panicked and ran in a huge bush. The handle bar went into my neck up near the glands you can feel under the back of the jaw. I was in the hospital for a while and that’s all I remember. That is enough. One of my daughters just could not learn to ride a bike. We all tried over and over. When she was a freshman in college she called one night and said Guess what? I’m a bike rider!!! I’m not sure I have ever heard her so excited.

No. I don’t have any slippers. I’m barefoot at home and wear flip flops when I go out. If my feet get cold during our 3-days of cooler weather winter, I just put on socks. I also own a pair of Isotoner ballet slipper slippers (I forgot about those). I can’t remember when I last wore them.

Nope. I drink about 12 oz if water and take a walk for 15 minutes. Distraction works for me.

Pretty much, if I’m sleepy. Even if not sleepy I can fall asleep easily if I just lie down.

Earlier this morning l could. TJBM says it’s just that time of year.

It’s fucking ridiculous. The grass here grows like 2 inches a day or something. So. You hear mowers, weedwackers, and other trimming equipment constant. Especially in the morning, before it gets too hot.
Summers here are extreme. Hurricane season is coming soon. It’s like more than 5 months. Goddammit it’s amazingly beautiful though…

Hm, no. I think the climate here (Germany) is almost as moderate as it gets. We do have fairly regular thunderstorms, and high winds seem to have become more frequent. Last year, there was flooding that did great damage (not to me personally). But overall (for now), this is a place of few weather extremes. Which is not to say it’s always pleasant. Winter is very grey, the days can get as short as ~8 hours of light, and it rains a ton. This time of year, it’s good. Not too warm, not too cold, and every morning feels fresh and smells like Summer. Tomorrow, I’m planting flowers.

TJBM has something enjoyable planned for tomorrow, too.

I do have plans for tomorrow. I don’t expect sheer enjoyment but it will probably be a nice day and I will have fulfilled an obligation.

I know it from my own experience. Too many people being fooled by “nice” offers. Sometimes they even have their life ruined. Sometimes they are already ruined but can’t get out because they are too deep into it or they are afraid of losing their “nice offers”. It’s good to keep your wit above you.

It’s been really too wet and chilly here to get started, but I can’t wait! I’ll be doing beans and peas (which never make it inside, I eat them as I pick them!) and herbs in pots on the deck, and tomatoes and eggplants and peppers of varying kinds in my big whiskey barrel pots. This year I got lazy and will be doing all from starts.

TJBM gets excited because Tuesday is traditionally New Book Day, when new releases come out.

I was not aware there was a New Book Day. I don’t typically read new stuff. I definitely pick up a copy of a book from my favorite authors, if I notice them.

Most of my books came from a book trading store. I didn’t use the internet so much until the last 11 years. Now, I can find almost any book I’m looking for. I have a specific online thrift book store. I just bought “Too Fat to Fish.” It was a brand new hardback. It has a permanent sticker that says $24.95. I got it for like $5! I also got a huge hardback of 7 Jules Verne novels in one book. Only $9!
