Men definitely get their toe nails cut, or all nails cut, but I don’t think very many get it done at a nail salon. I do see some men at the nail salon getting pedicures though.

The older you get, or fatter you get, the more you need someone else to take care of your toe nails.

There is a chain of nail salons marketed towards men called Hammer and Nail. I think it is hair and nail services.

Edit: I think some podiatrists have toe nail cutting services too. Maybe other doctors. I don’t remember.

I’ve seen quite a few men at nail salons and have a lot of respect for them. Most men don’t give a **** about their feet.

Podiatrists do indeed and I’ve heard insurance will pay if you have diabetes or other issues where it would be dangerous to cut yourself. My diabetic father used to go regularly. I’m planning on doing that also since I have diabetes and snipped myself last time I pedicured.

I was just thinking about my husband and dad, and how much they both would hate the chemical smell in a typical nail salon. I bet most men would hate it. They would have to go first thing in the morning and hope there weren’t any women getting a service that uses a lot of chemicals. I don’t even know what it is that is so toxic smelling in nail salons, but my husband and dad don’t even like the smell of regular nail polish. The man salon I mentioned above wouldn’t have that problem.

If I had the gumption and strength I would open a man salon where I live, I bet it would do great here. I bet a lot of men in my city can’t cut their own nails. Or, a service going to people’s houses to cut nails. You could require the customers have their own tools and not deal with sterilization maybe. I don’t know the laws.

I guess it’s another reason men like to be married; someone to cut their nails. So far my husband can still do his own.

I never have and I don’t believe any of my guy friends ever have. I’m not sure how reasonable it is to extrapolate that out to men in general, but my instincts say the percent of the male population is low (excluding healthcare reasons).

I think as far as percentages go, it would be more in certain populations than others, for example, maybe more in younger guys who are going out and want to look clean and neat, for dating or whatever. Yes, I’m stereotyping but marketers stereotype when they market to certain demographics. They might not feel funny when in a salon that’s 95% women customers, whereas some guys may feel going to a nail salon is something they would never do.

A podiatrist will take care of your feet if you have some problem, while they’re dealing with the problem they will definitely cut your toenails and file the dead skin off your feet.

Diabetics are certainly encouraged to, for health reasons. We’re likely to go to a podiatrist for this, but a good salon would work too.

For beauty though, I have known a few guys who get regular mani-pedis. Three of the four were gay though. The other guy just liked getting it done.

At least not regularly. I have gotten a manicure before and I felt fierce afterward (I did get my nails polished, though not painted), but I just can’t be assed to do it on the reg.

Male here. I have had one pedicure – went with my daughter. It wasn’t bad, I would go again.

But not alone.,

I think such things are for a person that I can never fully understand. Nor they me.
