Is this iPhone issue fixable?

“Great Question” (1points)

I have a 6 year old heavily used iPhone XR which is now difficult to recharge. I cleaned the portal yet the problem persists. That lightning icon indicating that it is indeed charging keeps disappearing on me.

I would really prefer not to spend in order to purchase a new one. Wondering if I can get this fixed instead for less money?

Thanks jellies!

Is it the phone or the charger ?

^^The phone. And I’m using genuine Apple chargers not imitations. Thanks!

Chargers go bad sometimes . . . .

I’ve replaced two MacBook Pro chargers in the last 13 years !

Might it be that the cord has been bent too much and doesn’t make a good connection? When mine starts disappearing at times and jiggling it gets the lightening icon back, I know it’s time for a new one. sorry if the cord is the same thing as the charger (just what IS a charger?)

^^Came to a point no amount and no style of jiggling works reliably. Lots of times I would stare at the lightning icon making sure it stays. That’s just not gonna work. :)

^^ LOL I’ve stared at mine to make sure it stays green, too. Then I bought a new cord. (Is the cord the “charger”?

p.s. I’ve never bought a ‘name brand’ one, just whatever’s on the shelf. They’ve lasted more than a year.

^^Yes the cord is the charger. I found the imitation Apple charger to be problematic. It doesn’t last long in my case. :)

^^Thanks!

The charger is actually the electrical source that charges the phone. The cable is the conduit to the charger.
