Haha, why did you tag your own username?

(Sorry, I don’t know how to get your wine stain out.)

Bleach!

lol, we allways did that on this site i used to be active at, i guess it’s just old habits. I have no ida why we did that really :p

Bleach? on a table?

I am just telling you what I would try! After ~ add furniture polish!

Mugsie's avatar

Look at it this way, you can’t get it out so why not try!

Most people know ~ you are in trouble when it comes to wine! Very hard to get out of clothes and out of carpet, and I am guessing out of wood! So far I have had luck with bleach getting it out of clothes, why not try wood!

I use bleach on counter tops to get coffee stains out and it works great.

yeah, i know i’m in trouble with the wine (or actually it’s my friend that’s in trouble :p )
anyways, to get it out from the Tablecloth we boiled some water and whitewine and put the cloth over the water/whitewine while it was boiling so that all the steam went through the cloth. I was just wondering if there where any tricks for getting away the wine on the table. We tried salt, but it just took a little of it.

Buy more red wine and pour it over the entire table to match the original stain. Maybe they won’t notice!

lol! that’s hilarious

Well, he just called me, and he made it! :) He just used a lot of soap and scrubbed really hard for a long time. I guess the simplest is sometimes the best.

@wilhel1812: On what site was it typical for people to tag their own usernames in questions they ask? If you didn’t know why anyone did it, why did you do it too, and why didn’t you ask?

wilhel1812's avatar

Yeah, well it was a forum. When people made new threads, they tagged their username. I didn’t ask why, but we did that for some unknown reason.

girlofscience's avatar

Why did you do it if you idn’t know why?

wilhel1812's avatar

everyone else was doing it ;)

girlofscience's avatar

That’s odd; I would have asked them why…

@wilhel1812, Whew!! I’m glad he got it out. That was a close one, huh?

I have just removed several red wine stains from a polished pine coffee table as follows: First, rub each stain several times with a cotton bud soaked in hydrogen peroxide (available from supermarkets), keep rubbing gently for several minutes. Next spray on some Sard Oxy Plus Power Stain Remover (laundry stain remover), rub again for a few minutes with the cotton bud. Wipe surface-dry with an absorbent wipe. Leave for several hours. The next morning the stains had vanished completely, but the surface was dull. Rub the area and blend to the surrounding area with 000 wire wool dabbed in dark antique wax furniture polish, let dry for a minute or two and buff off with a soft cotton cloth. Result – perfect.
