There seems to be some debate, and I’ve heard legitimate sounding justifications from both sides of the matter. Is this something anyone knows definitively?

I’m almost completely positive black tea has more caffeine. White tea is the youngest, followed by green, then red and black, I believe. As the tea ages on the plant and oxidizes the caffeine concentration increases.

Black tea has more caffeine than any other tea (now, I am talking proper tea here, not herbal or bark). I personally feel that Yerba Mate packs more of a punch, but it is not from a tea leaf. It also has more than just caffeine as a stimulant.
