@phoenyx The very original Superman was a villain. I’m not disagreeing, but all Superheroes evolve.
@anyone who said Ironman… I chose this link because of the icon in the searchbar. You don’t even have to read to know how I feel: http://www.coolmagnetman.com/maghow.htm
@Everyone who said Batman… Batman’s quest begins as a selfish journey to revenge, but he learns the price of justice is sacrifice. He is a great superhero, but perfect? There is always someone smarter, right? I agree everyone should know who Superman is because his outfit does not exactly fool anyone. But in a city owned by Wayne Enterprises… hmmm… who could possibly afford a Batmobile, Batwing, Batsuit, Batarmor, 1000s of toys… and if his intelligence is the winning quality, wasn’t The Joker a genius? I look at Batman and see the power of money.
In regards to The Watchmen… Dr.Manhattan is a god. Your hero loses interest from the audience when he or she can destroy everything at will. Ex. Dark Phoenix, Dr. Manhattan, Dr. Manhattan, and Dr. Manhattan, oh and God if the Bible were a graphic novel.
I’ve heard these arguments.
Superman has rappers endorsing him; he has drinks named after him. He doesn’t have to help humans, but he chooses to. He is not motivated by revenge, rather compassion. He does not use or make money to accomplish his goals. He is solar-powered.
…??? Are we really giving our superhero trophy to a spoiled, rich, man who can’t get over his parents’ deaths?
