I read a quote from Ambrose Bierce: "The covers of this book are too far apart" and want to know what book he was talking about.

I can’t find out what book he was referring to when he said this.

The quote is from The Devil’s Dictionary so I wonder if it was the Bible.

Actually I stand corrected. The quote is from an unknown book review and is quoted in “Bitter Bierce” by C. H. Grattan.
