Does anyone know about cancer treatment in Germany?

“Great Question” (2points)

My father just got diagnosed with anaplastic carcinoma of the thyroid. It’s a very aggressive, almost always fatal form of thyroid cancer. Most patients prognosis is 2–6 months from diagnosis. He currently is receiving radiation and chemotherapy, but is looking into alternative treatments.

To an extent he feels that he is being poisoned with something that doesn’t have a good track record with treating this form of cancer. At a recent benefit held in his honor, enough money was raised so that alternative treatments could be considered. He is looking at a treatment in Germany that raises the body temperature in an attempt to make the body unlivable for the cancer cells.

I’m scared because the treatment is four weeks long and I don’t want to lose that time with my Dad if he doesn’t have a lot of time left. However, I understand and will respect whatever he wants to do with his time and the money raised. I want more than anything for him to win this battle and beat the cancer, and I don’t care if he has to go to the end of the earth to do that. Does any one have experience with this sort of cancer? This sort of treatment or any other alternative treatments?

I haven’t experienced this type of cancer in my life/family, nor do I have advice about specific alternative treatments, but I’m really sorry to hear about the diagnosis. Good luck to your father and family. A friend of mine, her mother is actually in Germany right now getting stem-cell surgery done for her Parkinson’s. All I can tell you is apparently Germany has some good options for alternative treatments that aren’t available here. I’d seriously consider it.

I only know Farrah Fawcett went to Germany for treatment. Best wishes

The following excellent site contains much information for ACT patients/family and routine as well as clinical trial treatment regimens in the US.

The best US techniques and new clinical trials do not include use of whole body hyperthermia. Several clinical sites in Germany do use this, as noticed on web searches. They have been exploring this since the late 1990’s. They seem to have techniques to manage the WBHT in a safe way, to enhance action of the chemotherapy.

I hope these linked sites’ information will help you a bit.

My regards and regrets to you on your father’s serious illness.

Many clinics have a very good reputation. Depending on the type of the cancer you have to find the best clinic. Check this out

and perhaps send them an email with your questions.
