Do you manage your bills on your computer?

I was looking for a free good bill manager for my mac, does anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone else do this? Do you feel it helps keep you on track?

I tried a bill manager for awhile, but it was overly complicated. I switched to just paying bills online, and keeping my notes about them in Windows Notepad.

Every time I pay a bill and it shows the receipt page for printing, I just copy and paste it into an email and send it to myself.

I scan all invoices and hold them in folders until the statement comes. Then I pay online and save a pdf of the payment thingy from the bank and move the folder into a paid bill file separated into months.

If I want an over view I will put them onto a spreadsheet in numbers.

I don’t know of a simple bill manager. Saves a lot of printing for me.

Quicken would be an excellent choice. It takes time to learn it and time to develop the habits you need, but you will be glad you did.

We have all our accounts on the computer, and manage the finances for several family members as well.

Lots of people seem to like www.mint.com. Have you checked that out?

My credit union has a free bill pay service. Works great.

@PandoraBoxx www.mint.com is fantastic! It keeps track of everything for you, and makes it easy to see what you can spend. It also makes it easier to see where that “money leak” is (mine is Starbucks ;) ). The only problem I’ve had with it is that certain banks will not connect with it yet. If you bank at a local area bank, you may want to check mint.com’s help threads to see if others at your bank have had connection issues.

Oh, it’s free, and you can access it anywhere that has an internet connection. It’s also very secure.

I either have my regular monthly bills deducted automatically from my checking account at bank or added to my Master Card, which I then pay online from my checking account. I write about three checks a month.

Quicken is pretty easy. I’ve been doing my household financial management on computer for a couple of decades, I think. Although, when I first started, I was using a different kind of software, which is incompatible with Quicken. So I have those data, but no easy way to get at them!

@PandoraBoxx took my answer ;D We do Mint.com. It’s awesome to see that the bills are paid and you’re financially worth more than just what goes to the bills each month!

I just pay each bill online and print the receipts. I keep these on file with my budget statement. I have almost forgotten how to write a check.
