Good lord, that was too many years ago, but I’m sure it involved me wearing a plaid pantsuit.haha

My dad took my friend Matt and me to McDonald’s. We were allowed to sit at a table by ourselves. There was a little merry-go-round sort of thing inside the restaurant. We rode it after we finished eating. We were six years old.

I was 18, we went to the penny arcade. Played skiball and rode the batmobile.

Oh sure. Why not.

I was 16. There was a guy who rode my school bus who was 19 (he hadn’t graduated yet, which should have been a big clue) and blond and pretty hot. I used to go up to the A&P where he was a bagger just to look at him. Eventually he asked me out.

I went to his work when his shift was over and we decided to take a walk. We walked on the one big street through town and talked. He told me things like “you would look better if you wore more makeup,” and that I should wear “clothes that show off my boobs.” Eventually we turned into a field by the lake and sat under a tree to talk, where he pulled a condom out of his wallet and asked if we could have sex. I said no, and walked back home by myself.

A while back, I looked up that guy on the Internet, and found he’d eventually gone to prison in my state for cocaine possession and home invasion. I’m glad I didn’t get knocked up with his baby. Eww.

Went to the movies. Sat awkwardly in silence until it started, not knowing what to say to each other. Finally tried (and succeeded in) putting my arm around her. Watched the movie (no idea what it was – I remember it not being good). Went to dinner at… Chili’s maybe? Took her home. Walked her to the door. Gave her a kiss, said goodnight.

Really nothing overly special. But we were together for a year and seven months after that.

My first ever date was in San Diego this summer (we were 17). We kind of had to wait until the day after he asked me out because that was at night, but we spent the entire next day (7/19/09) together. He and I just hung out around the city, went to restaurants, went to the beach, went to La Jolla, went to Coronado, and then drove around at night and went to various places. It was a lot of fun and the fact that we didn’t really know the city very well made it even more fun. And yeah, we…uh…kinda…er…made out in the car… :)

Might’ve been different had I gone out with someone earlier than this, but I never did.

We went to see Iron Man (yes my first date was not too long ago.) I put my arm around her and kept it there the entire movie, and it hurt like Hell. But I didn’t mind. She felt really bad after though and gave me a kiss on the cheek. So…worth it.

And I think we went to eat Ramen after.

I didn’t go anywhere with my first boyfriend. Ever. Thank goodness. That guy was a jerk and I don’t like him.
So I say my current boyfriend is my first. Our first “date” was at his house. We spent the whole afternoon and night on the roof of his house. We just listened to music while throwing little pebbles to bystanders outside. That was fun.

I’d had boyfriends before, but my first date was awful. It was a blind date, and he took me to Taco Bell and almost didn’t pay for me.

I was sooooo close to kicking him in the nuts.

chyna's avatar

@TitsMcGhee He was too cheap to come up with the 2 bucks your meal cost? He was a loser!

I was 15, and we went to the mall and a movie. My date’s mother came with us and sat in the back of the theater at my parents request. I remember the butterflies and sweaty hands. I remember the feel of his hand in mine. Innocence…

I arranged to meet a japanese girl I was crazy for at the movies.
It was a Grindhouse cinema called the Cine 7, in Oakland, back in 1974. 25 cents to watch 2 movies. The movies playing was Born Losers (Billy Jack 1), and another motorcycle movie called The Long Ride. Both terrible movies, but I loved watching them with this girl.
While we dated, I watched some of the worst films ever. I always enjoyed them, because I was with her. And she is the one who, much later, introduced me to Fluther.

I was in college before I had my first date. We went to a concert at the student union. And it ended up being just the one date. I think I was trying too hard to be someone I wasn’t by not saying much of anything at all and being overly nice. He never called me back.

Ah yes. My first date was with a good friend’s cousin. We saw this live action The Jungle Book movie at the mall. His mom drove us there and my mom drove us home. Our parents met that night before we went. They agreed that he would pay. It was really funny because we got the tickets, then got some drinks and popcorn. He came up 15 cents short. Ha! He turned to me and asked if I had any change and of course, I didn’t, per the agreement. The movie was bad. He was awkward and strangely emotionless. I can’t remember if he tried to kiss me. That was the last I saw him until my good friend’s graduation party where I learned he had been in and out of mental institutions. He asked me out again that day, but I declined. :/

TitsMcGhee's avatar

@chyna: He did end up paying for it, but the point was really that he wasn’t thinking about me, which is pretty awful during a date. He did end up being a particularly awful breed of loser, though.

Most physically attractive guy I ever dated. Floored that he picked me. Teen dance followed by making out in his car.

My first official date was in celebration of a birthday and my best friend took me to one of the ritziest restaurants in our city. He picked me up dressed head to toe in black leather and wearing a belt with handcuffs for a buckle/clasp. When we got to the restaurant, the maitre d’ gave us the eyeball but honored the reservation. It was a fabulous dinner of flamebe’d (sp) lobster and my present was a handmade necklace of my name best friend had been making in secret during our jewelry making class time.

I think he and I went to see “My Best Friend’s Wedding” in the movie theatre – at the end of the date we kissed on the lips, no tongue…never saw him again…I don’t think we were meant to be

Last day of junior year of high school. Had met the guy through a friend, wasn’t that into him, but I had liked boys since third grade and had had nothing, so I was eager to jump on anything I could get. We saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and I accidentally initiated holding hands (really just wanted some arm rest). Then we drove in our separate cars downtown where we got ice cream and attempted conversation (didn’t go great—a lot of muttering things followed by “what?”). We walked over to look at a new mural painted in town, and he kissed me (my first). Drove home, cause of junior vehicle operator laws.

Saw him once more, then started my summer job at a camp where I fell in love with another CIT…but that’s a story for another day.
