@erichw1504 The point of a military wasn’t the issue, was it? Every country has one. But defending a country, is defending it’s land, it’s home sphere. Preemptive warfare, sending troops to other countries is not defending the homeland. It is defending interests. Preemptive warfare can justify any attack on the US mainland as another nations defensive warfare. Russia could bomb washington with the same arguments in a given situation. Picture China building army and air bases throughout the US, and you would have a sense of what people in the middle east feels.
The US has been and is crucial for stability in international relations so far. That is not the point though. What I have an issue with is calling it defending the country. That hasn’t been done since WWII. The rest is political and economical interests.
