Since my “bosses” are my clients, then it varies from client to client. Most of them are extremely demanding, think they know exactly what they want and they all wanted it LAST WEEK.
My boss who is the proprietor of the restaurant I work at is pretty awesome. He’s definitely well liked, everyone jokes constantly (including him)! It’s a really laid back place as long as you do your job well. However he also knows when it’s time to be serious and crack down.
My ‘boss’ here at the library is the head librarian. We get along like sisters. She’s 5 star. She tells her husband that she shouldn’t come in when I’m here because she doesn’t get any work done; we talk too much. LOL Even on her day off (which is today why, I’m here)...she’ll be in this afternoon. She’s the greatest.
I like to see bosses of that… caliber. By “caliber,” of course, I refer to both the size of their gun barrels and the high quality of their characters… Two meanings… caliber… it’s a homonym… Forget it.
I have 4 bosses right now. They range from completely awesome to fairly awesome. They let me do my thing, let me know I’m appreciated, and for the most part provide me with all the supplies I could need for my job. lucky me. :)
Mine is wonderful. She makes everyone feel valued, and does a good job of removing political obstacles. She listens, asks the right questions, and gives good feedback on projects. We work well together.
I get along with him, but sometimes he slacks off just because those who come in later in the day (like me!) will have to pick up the slack for him. I don’t really appreciate it.
Absent. Which works for me pretty well. I have to ask him to please schedule meetings with me, remind him of deadlines, propose projects we could do, etc. I have seen him in my “office” (I actually work in a lab) maybe once the entire time I’ve worked there.
