I don’t save Christmas cards at all. I cut the pretty fronts off & send them to a woman in Texas who makes things like place mats, etc. for a nursing home. They’re recycled in a good way.
I don’t save cards or invitations at all. I’d need a filing cabinet to keep them all!
I only save the wedding invitations for family members, or those near/dear to me. Once the date is on the calendar, it’s out of here. All the fuss and expense brides put into invitations when really a tasteful panel card with a great font gets the job done.
I hold on to them until the following year so I know who to send Christmas cards to the next time. I guess I could write down the names, but it is fun to pull them out and look at them one last time before I throw them away.
I use christmas cards for next year’s gift tags. If they can’t easily be made into a tag I throw them away when the rest of the christmas decorations come down on Jan 6th.
Until you have verified that you have the correct addresses for everyone you care about. That’s how I update my address book every winter. Sometimes people forget to tell you they’ve moved.
