Bush Senior. 50/50 on Obama at this point. It’s gonna come down to the independents and what happens after the midterm.

George H.W. Bush was the last one term president, from 1989–1993.

Re: Obama – I hope not, but there are enough people who seem to backlash at any kind of change (even good ones) that I’m afraid that element may have their way.

does that mean that Bush Sr. can run again?

laureth's avatar

It does. Do you think that’s the answer for a problem we have?

@missingbite – I see what you did there. ;)

According to the way some people read the constitution Clinton could run again since he wouldn’t be doing more than 2 consecutive terms.

laureth's avatar

I don’t see where you would get that anywhere from that amendment, @theichibun.

@laureth I did put Carter for about 3 seconds. I changed it while you were writing yours. I promise. I totally forgot abut 41 until I hit Answer! You are fast!

@theichibun Please cite these “some people”. I’ve never heard anyone mistakenly read the Constitution and arrive at that result. I have, of course, heard people who have never read the constitution assert blatantly false ideas as fact….

Obama will be reelected. Of that I have no doubt.

I’m not sure, except that…

If Sarah Palin gets nominated, Obama ‘12.
