“Great Question” (6points)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbMt82yVj24 The cat was in the bin for fifteen hours, apparently terrified & lying in it’s own waste. The woman has said it was “just a joke” & “can’t see what all the fuss is about” She has received death threats from as afar afield as Australia!!! Now i’m no cat lover, not in the least, but this!!! Just wondered how you feel about it from both points of view i.e what she did & the reaction to it. Thanks.

She is sick. Just sick.

…I don’t have words. I read your post, so I knew what was coming, but I was not prepared for the sinking feeling in my gut when I actually saw it happen. What the hell is wrong with people like that?

MissA's avatar

If that woman would do such a thing, what else would she do! I wouldn’t trust her with children at all.

rebbel's avatar

Ah, they catched her?!
I read this today on the Dutch text service and later saw the clip…, that woman most probably had some wiring gone kaput.
Either that, or she is plain evil.
The fuss, ma’am, is about, that had the pussycat’s humans not have a secutity camera installed in their garden, they’d probably never would have looked for kitty in the bin, and subsequently the bin had been collected and kitty would have been dead.
Lu-na-tic.
Edit: And at first she is effing petting the pussy….

It’s not a joke when you put a living creature under duress or harm. Her actions make me feel ill and I question her sanity.

OpryLeigh's avatar

I think that lady needs her head checked, what she did was cruel without a doubt but it sounds like she needs help, not death threats.

DominicX's avatar

I think she deserves what she gets. Sure, some people are going to go a little insane with death threats and everything, but when you do something like that, you’re going to get quite a bit of shit for it and you deserve it.

Jude's avatar

Lock her in a bin for a week and make her sit in her own shit. F*cking bitch!

Austinlad's avatar

Yet one more example of how cruel people can be. It’s more than cruelty to an animal—it’s cruelty to every animal lover.

zannajune's avatar

This woman has no respect for life. A cat may not be human, but it has emotions. It feels pain and fear. This is so sad!

talljasperman's avatar

Is she a Sociopath?

boxer3's avatar

first thought: “Is this real life”
Not quite sure what this woman was thinking..if
she was thinking at all.
The fact that she says it was joke is the real icing on the cake…
like the cat is going to laugh about it and let itself out.
pretty terrible. sadly not much suprises me anymore,
mostly, just disgusted with it.

flutherother's avatar

I wouldn’t call the woman a crazy cat murderer, I think it was just a sudden strange impulse, but that said she could have gone back to check on the cat but she didn’t and that was definitely cruel.

Michael_Huntington's avatar

What’s her address?

ucme's avatar

Just for the record, she works in a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland. She claims her Father being ill in hospital has her stressed & this contributed to this incident. The police haven’t charged her with anything because she has committed no crime. Indeed she’s been given police protection (more tax payers wastage) Personally I think death threats is going way over the top not to say what she did wasn’t sick & cruel because obviously it was in spades. I just think why? I mean WHY?!?

muppetish's avatar

@flutherother Whenever I walk through the hallways on campus, I feel an impulse to pull the fire alarm. I have never followed through on it and unless there is a fire in the building, my hands don’t belong anywhere near it. If it was an impulse, no matter how strong it felt, she should not have acted on it.

ucme's avatar

@Michael_Huntington Somewhere in Coventry, which is where I think she’ll be sent at the very least!!

talljasperman's avatar

In a small town in Alberta, Canada four teenagers broke into a house and killed the family cat in the Microwave…I think they didn’t get any jail time and just had to pay a small fine….I think we need some stronger animal rights…

MacBean's avatar

I am a cat-lover and I think the death threats are a little excessive. She absolutely deserves a good solid punch in the throat, though. Friggin’ pathetic excuse for a human being. Ugh.

Cruiser's avatar

I have always been a proponent of an eye for an eye and if our laws allowed for a punitive approach, I guarantee there would be a lot less evil deeds and certainly little to no repeat offenders.

Seaofclouds's avatar

That is horrible. She definitely deserves what ever she gets, and she better get something.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

It disgusts me :(

Blackberry's avatar

I would also like to punch her in the vagina and face.

MacBean's avatar

@Blackberry Kidneys are a good spot, too.

Dr_Lawrence's avatar

Her behaviour is totally unacceptable and suggests she has serious problems that may may her a risk to others if left untreated. As satisfying as it might feel at some level to abuse her, it is a totally wrong-headed approach.

jca's avatar

i am not watching the video because it will upset me and i will think about it for days, i know myself. i think whatever the woman did is deserving of death threats. we had a girl in NYC who cooked a kitten in a microwave. i also heard in NYC they throw cats off roofs. i have three cats and i can’t stand the thought of something terrible being done to any animal, not just a cat. i think it’s correct that we need stronger animal rights laws. when people are convicted of this stuff, they should get a few years in jail and then maybe then they’ll think twice next time.

When I first saw that video, I thought it was a joke. A harmless looking, middle-aged woman, nicely patting a cat, and then…into the garbage. I’m glad they found out who she was, just because of the public humiliation and shame. She will always be known as that woman. Why she would do something like that is beyond me, but I’m glad the cat is OK and glad to see this mean person didn’t just get away with it.

KhiaKarma's avatar

The cat is so trusting! You can see her looking around to see who’s arount and contemplating what she is going to do. Scary. Glad she was caught now. I wonder if she’s ever done anything similar before….

LuckyGuy's avatar

Sadly, people killing or abusing children garner less public outcry.

It’s a crazy world….

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

I’m always glad I can read other people’s responses so that I don’t watch the video linked.

Steve_A's avatar

@worriedguy I feel much the same.I get it. What she did was wrong.

This is more like some youtube viral thing that everyone is jumping on board too and feeding it.

There are far more important things going on in the world such as @worriedguy Pointed out. Not saying it makes it less important or right just saying.

Maybe we could make a big deal about those people missing on the milk cartons or billboards…..

Pied_Pfeffer's avatar

I wonder why someone would set up a camera to film activity that focuses on their trash can/rubbish bin. I don’t disbelieve the story, but I just find it odd. I wish they had explained why in the story…it would add more credibility.

And I agree with @worriedguy and @Steve_A on this. There are far greater tragedies in the news right now that deserve more global attention and emotional support.

Seek's avatar

I don’t even like cats (I mean, I don’t hate them or wish them harm, but there’s no emotional connection) and I think this woman’s off her rocker. Someone should poop in her drive-thru teller receptacle.

citygrlincountry's avatar

While living in NYC I had heard it is considered a felony to kill a pet (a cat had been murdered on my block so was discussing it with neighbors – so I admit that I am not totally certain of this law) Anyway there are some pretty strong laws in the US because there are SOME people where this is indicative of other violent behavior and could be directed to any living being. So in a way, it is good that these laws exist, but it would be very evolved of our society to enact the laws solely because abusing an animal SHOULD be considered a crime all on its own, without making this law because there could be human implications. We aren’t quite to that point yet. I’m surprised it is not considered a crime where she lives, some type of endangerment or harm or abuse even though luckily this kitty was rescued. And I think we are all aware that there are other horrible things going on in the world and large scale issues to be concerned with—it doesn’t make them any less horrible or large scale to take a moment and recognize that this was an terrible act.

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

@jjmah stated my response exactly.

ucme's avatar

@Pied_Pfeffer The couple set up the camera because their car was regularly being pranged by careless motorists.

Frenchfry's avatar

Disgusted.

Pied_Pfeffer's avatar

@ucme Thank you for the explanation, and for the new British word to add to the collection.

ucme's avatar

@Pied_Pfeffer Pranged, shunted, rear-ended. Either way it works out the same.
