By far herniating a disc. Two months of excruciating pain taught me never to push a piano by yourself, never EVER trust a chiropractor and to always get a second opinion!!
My mom shot my father in the forehead and my sister and I jumped in the car afterwords to be dumped on a bus landing in Denver until she disposed of the body. After that we spent a few months hiding all over the country and in Mexico. She eventually left us with my aunt and turned herself in.
She got time served. My father though that beating us was a sport.
edit :: And I’m not sure if that is the worst… Sigh.
My fiancee died in a small plane crash on the Mexico/Arizona border 2 months after our high school graduation. Not as bad as @johnpowell’ s, but not something I want to repeat.
I thought it was the loss of my first husband shortly after our first anniversary, but the loss of my second husband just short of our 10th anniversary was a very close second.
That is all in my distant past now. I am celebrating my 35th anniversary with my current husband.
When I was 12 I watched my mom die of ovarian cancer (she was sick for almost a year). At the time I thought my world had fallen apart never to be put back together again. Although it is far behind me and I am very happy with the life I have, that event has cast a very long shadow.
@NaturallyMe Wow! You must have a pretty easy relaxed life if the worst thing to happen to you is your cat dying. Either that or I’m guessing you don’t care about much except your cat.
