Is he still contagious?

So – hubby had a scratchy throat on Monday, and was sick as a dog on Wednesday and Thursday with sore throat, coughing and no voice. Today he feels somewhat better and I need help with cooking since we are doing “Fake Christmas” today. Do you think he’s still contagious?

I wouldn’t take my chances with it…
If he is to help you cooking, he’d better wash his hands adequately and sneeze in the right directions.
I think with most illness like this you are at the most contagious before the illness shows itself ie: a day or so before you feel ill. However, I can’t say for certain that he is 100% all clear yet.
he is still contagious that is for sure! he will be still contagious even a day after he feels perfectly fine

If it’s just a common cold, he’s getting past the contagious part, janbb, but he’s still contagious. The rule is 3 days coming, 3 days staying, 3 days going. He’s at the tail of the three days staying. He’s got another 24 hours left on the clock :(

rule of thumb is you caught that cold 2 or 3 days before starting to show symtoms ..
during that time you are contagious ... unlesss it was an extreame temp change that caused the cold rather than a virus .. he will still be “catchy for 2 to 3 days after showing symtoms .
The other rule of thumb for illness—24 hours after the fever breaks ( without aspirin ) or after you start antibiotics, you’re no longer contagious.
From working in Childcare for many years the rule of thumb is 24 hrs AFTER you start to feel better. So not good until tomorrow at best.
