@Adirondackwannabe Here is a little story I read online today relating to bullying:
“When i turned twelve my dad sat me down and we had a conversation.
Well more like he spoke, i sat and listened like a good little 12 y/o would. Honestly, i was just nodding my head waiting for him to shut up! But when he said “Look, there are two types of people in the world, there are assh*les and there are the other people. You choose who you’re going to be.
It’s a rhetorical question obviously.
My dad never swore around me. But i knew that when he said asshole, looking me directly in the eyes, he was dead serious and i knew that i didn’t want to be an assh*le as he said it with such disgust and hate it took effect. I try my very hardest not to be mean in any way still, but when i do it’s about something rational and when i do say something, it’s heard by the person.”
Here is the full source. Quite a story. Illustrates my point well. Sometimes you just can’t win. I am personally dealing with my own case of “reverse bullying” at work. Sigh….
