4WD is my least favorite as it’s the least controllable. AWD offers all of the benefits of 4WD with far fewer drawbacks. If you like being able to corner in slippery conditions or recover from a skid, don’t even consider 4WD.
RWD has many advantages in performance, but also requires more driving skill than most people have in order to even commute in any conditions where drivetrain makes a difference. The average driver in a RWD in slippery conditions is a danger to everyone.
@Aster Stay as far away from New England as possible. If that scared you, you would never survive a NH winter (from October to May).
