Nowt to do with mythical gods, (who knew) apparently herd animals form tight groups when threatened, the rumbling thunder spooked them & so the lightening strike killed the lot of them with them being so closely packed
I saw this article yesterday. I’ve worked with animals before in a medical profession, and never seen anything like that before. I’ve heard of two or three cows getting struck now and then, because they sit under trees during storms. But never the sheer number of dead described. The pictures are surreal.
It was Zeus. He has always hated things hornier than himself and since both male and female reindeer have antlers, a double insult in his book. he wreaked vengeance upon the unsuspecting herd. The fact that Thor gets the blame since it occurred in his domain was an unanticipated plus.
His goats were incredibly jealous of the general popularity of reindeer, particularly as we approach the holidays. Additionally, Santa Claus resembles Odin a tad too much for Thor’s taste. As such, Thor decided to smite the reindeer. Rumor has it the head of one of the slain reindeer was later placed in Santa and Mrs. Clause’s bed by Loki.
