If you can only see one movie this weekend, would it be First Man or Bad Times at the El Royale?

Bad times at the el royale.
first man is another filthy propaganda piece.
The TRUE first man was YURI GAGARIN. Fuck all the imperialist imposter fuccbois. *patriotic soviet music intensifies

Gosh, @ragingloli, I don’t even remember if they covered Gagarin’s moon walk. <eyeroll>
When exactly was that again?

I would go see First Man, because I’ve been awed by the space program ever since I could remember. I clearly remember July 20, 1969, at my aunt’s house, watching Walter Cronkite’s broadcast for the landing. I was six.

Bad Times at the El Royale looks pretty good. Glad to see there are a few films out there that aren’t comic book merchandise advertisements.

Also excited to see a Star is Born. Really interested to see how Gaga does in a feature film. I think she puts her heart into her work and keeps her fans in mind.

Yuri Gagarin is greatly admired in America, too. Yuri’s night started in the US and is now celebrated around the world, and there’s a statue of him at NASA headquarters in Houston.

Just done watching First Man. No surprise if it gets Best Pic nomination.

@ragingloli You should calm down. Credit the Soviet Union for shaming the Capitalists into landing a man on the moon. Consider that the achievement marks the apogee of achievement in the history of my shortsighted country, and is an apt metaphor regarding social progress here as well.
