“Great Question” (3points)

Say you love aquariums and have enough money to build your dream aquarium, what would we see in there?

My friend’s fantasy aquarium is full of seahorses. Just seahorses moving around in this fantastic seascape…

Sharks, being fed with live seals and orphans.

@ragingloli Wouldn’t if be more fun if the victims had parents who could grieve?

Mine would have all the most beautiful tropical fish and bioluminescent plants.

Mermaids, full size.

A recreation of a coral reef off of Maui. Lots of Moorish Idols, Humuhumunukunukuapua’a, and octopods. And a couple turtles.

I had an aquarium once and that is when I learned about the systematic organized tank consist of as it is a miniature artificial ocean.

Top of the tank are where the top feeding fish live.
Middle is where the middle feeding fish live.
Bottom is where the bottom feeders live and these are the ones that keep the tank clean as they pick off the leftover food that the other levels leave.
I would have all levels that consists of tiny fish that swim in tandem and it is really lovely to view them when they do this.
I would have:
Angel fish,Gold fish, Zebra fish, Catfish,Blood fin tetras,Guppy(males are brighter) ,Platy fish (blue silver),White cloud minnow (Red),Harlequin Rasbora , Dwarf Gourami ( males are bright )
and ,Bottom feeders to maintain the tank.

Ex husband had one fish in a tank by itself , it was a Piranha fish and it ate whatever fish he had placed in the tank , of course! It grew too big for the tank.
In moving the tank it broke and the fish died on hitting the pavement.
It was just an attention getting fish to show off to visitors to his office.

Donald Trump, Pelosi and a pack of electric eels.

Mine would take up one huge wall and I’d have all manner of fish in there. It would be wonderful.

I would love to have electric eels. The walls of the tank would be covered in sensors measuring electric fields and voltages.
They are amazing creatures. When hunting they send out low level pulse that causes prey fish to twitch. That movement is picked up by the eel who then moves closer so it can deliver the fatal electrical pulse. How the heck does it generate all that voltage? I’d be experimenting for sure and would have lights blinking whenever there wasa pulse. Each eel would have it’s own colored LED.

Or jellyfish. They are so graceful and gorgeous – and they don’t make a mess.

@LuckyGuy It is probably about the same as how “cuttlefish” do the same thing. It’s just a 2 minute clip but it’s fascinating. I saw a NOVA program on them that was an hour long. Utterly astonishing.

The GB synchronised swim team so I could spear fish whenever the whim took hold of me.

Crap! I forgot to link to the cuttlefish video. It explains how they change colors.

That is neat. I’d put a high res TV monitor on the bottom of the tank and have it change its pattern and colors randomly. The cuttlefish would have a field day.
