Bugs Bunny tops my list but I recently saw part of a Charlie Brown Halloween show.

@lucillelucillelucille I never got on with Bugs, don’t care for carrots much either.

From age 7 on there was a daily program titled “The World’s Greatest Cartoons” that featured a solid hour of Warner Brothers cartoons between 4 & 5 on weekday afternoons. That program was still running when I left high school. I can to this day recite the dialog word for word of dozens of WB cartoons from the 40s & 50s. Saturday mornings it was Mighty Mouse and Heckyl & Jeckyl. I regard the arrival of all that Hanna—Barbera schlock like Huckleberry Hound and the Flintstones as the greatest catastrophe to befall the cartoon genre.

Tennessee Tuxedo and Speed Racer. The Thunderbirds and Clutch Cargo were my fav but not quite a full on Cartoon sort of a hybrid.

There was also a daily half hour show of Popeye cartoons. Is anyone here old enough to
remember Farmer Alfalfa?

The whole Looney Toons gang were my favorites (Bugs, Daffy, Foghorn Leghorn, etc.). I took to their wit and sarcasm much more than the sincerity of much of the Disney cartoons.

Later, I was drawn to things like M*A*S*H, The Carol Burnet Show, and Taxi. I think there’s a through-line there. I like the irreverent wise asses.

Might say something about me.

And yes, I’ll watch Looney Tunes any chance I get.

@stanleybmanly I love Tex Avery toons, Droopy was by far his funniest.

I watched many, but particularly liked:

The Buggs Bunny Road Runner Hour and all related Loony Toons and Merry Melodies etc, so: Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Marvin the Martian, Wile E. Coyote, Sam the Sheepdog, Tweety, Speedy Gonzalez, etc.
Super Friends (Justice League etc)
Pink Panther
Speed Racer (car carnage!)
Bullwinkle & Friends (so, Tom Slick, Super Chicken, Mr. Peabody, George of the Jungle, etc)
Scooby Doo
Bat Man (Adam West)
Star Trek

Probably others I’m not thinking of.

I’m happy to watch any of them again, up to a point. I have on occasion, but not a lot.

I used to love the TV showThunderbirds from 1965 when I was a kid.
I recently watched the first episode on Amazon Prime. Fun.

Foghorn leghorn, Bugs bunny and my favorite guest star the Tasmanian Devil, Road Runner. It wasn’t that I loved the Road Runner so much. I loved seeing the variety of ways Wile tried to off himself, and always a bonus was when he held up little help signs.

I love Pink Panther, Voltron, Thunder Cats, Marc Anthony & Pussyfoot ( The over protective Bulldog & The adorable lil Kitten) Road Runner, Bugs Bunny and the gang lol Sorry if my list isn’t all that great..

ucme's avatar

@PaisleyFaye Yeah it is, I see you like Pink Panther too, love that theme tune.

Bugs Bunny ruled! (I simply don’t understand the appeal of today’s cartoons.)

@Lonelyheart807 I agree with you on that!! Some magic just can’t be recaptured as it was.
