No, but I’ve actually been looking to buy one.

I don’t like how I am pulling out my phone for everything.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@raum -I wear my mom’s watch once in awhile.
I got rid of my phone years ago and don’t miss it very much.
My husband does have one and I am alright with that as it turns out that it’s a very useful thing to have. XD

KNOWITALL's avatar

Nope, I consider them redundant hardware at this point.

chyna's avatar

I have a Fitbit that has the time.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@chyna—I thought of getting one before. Do you like yours?

elbanditoroso's avatar

Never. I have wide wrists and commercial watchbands are constricting, even the XL ones.

And who wants an unbalanced weight on one arm?

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@elbanditoroso -You’ve got to watch that!

chyna's avatar

I do like my Fitbit. It buzzes my arm to get up and move and I do get up if I’m able. I also have a friendly competition with a couple of relatives to see who can get the most steps each week.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille -That is right up my alley as I like to measure progress.
I had a pedometer once but it fell off my foot due to my lightnin’ fast pace.Lol!

@lucillelucillelucille Can I just duct tape my laptop to my wrist? :)

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

I talk to myself a lot. I meant to reply to Chyna.

Inspired_2write's avatar

Not since I developed tendinitis from overuse.
Can’t wear a watch unless on a pin like a broach.
Haven’t worn one for years since I retired and do things on my own time.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@Inspired_2write Not a bad way to go about doing things

Inspired_2write's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille
Everyone has an inner clock and I follow my own inclinations.
I do what feels naturally at the moment.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@Inspired_2write -My dad used the internal clock method (my name for it) for many things. It’s interesting.

LostInParadise's avatar

Yes through force of habit. It just does not feel right unless I have my watch on. I think of my cell phone as an emergency device, only to be turned on as the need arises. The first time that I used my cell phone to check the time was one time when I had forgotten my watch. It came as a sudden insight that I could turn on my cell phone and get the time.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@LostInParadise My husband’s view on cell phones is the same as yours.

elbanditoroso's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille I suppose that perhaps if I were the president or a King or Duke or something, I might wear a timepiece on my ark.

That would make me an a-wrist-ocrat.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@elbanditoroso This could happen to you in due time.

elbanditoroso's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille only if I get a second chance.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@elbanditoroso -There is a minute chance of that.

gondwanalon's avatar

I love my Apple Watch.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@gondwanalon -I do not know anything about them. What do you like about it?

gondwanalon's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille The GPS monitors my workout speed, distance, elapsed time, outside temperature, weather and heart rate. It is waterproof so I can use it when I’m canoe paddling and swimming.

It’s cool to answer phone calls by talking on my Apple Watch like Dick Tracy. I get important phone calls while I’m out canoe paddling. So easy to answer and talk on the watch instead of digging out my cell phone from my dry bag and risking dropping my phone in the water. I’ve had the Apple Watch for over a year and the novelty is still there. Has most of the apps that are on my cell phone.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@gondwanalon -That does sound like a good gadget to have.Especially if you have some trouble out there.

canidmajor's avatar

I always have either a Mickey Mouse watch or an m&m watch on. I really an analog timepiece.

Demosthenes's avatar

I wear a watch much of the time, yes. I do use it to tell the time, but it’s also a fashion statement.

kritiper's avatar

Sometimes when I’m working for a new customer and I have to know how long the job takes since I charge by the hour.
When I was working as a mechanic I didn’t wear any jewelry because if you ground a electrical circuit through a ring or metal watch band, you get burned really bad really quick! Especially in the old days when they had 24 volt starting systems on trucks.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

No. They keep falling off or band breaking. I use my smart phone for the time.

MrGrimm888's avatar

I LOVE wrist watches. But, I’ve broken every one. I used to have rings too. All broken.
I have lots of tattoos. I can’t break them. Although, I have damaged them as well.

I would like to wear a watch. But, it needs to be invincible.

LadyMarissa's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille I wear a watch 24/7/365. This is MY idea of time

JLeslie's avatar

Yes, I usually wear a watch.

Thanks for the flashback video. :)

The watch I usually wear is a watch my husband wanted me to have because he, his siblings, and his father all have that same watch, and so it was like he was saying I am part of the family.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@JLeslie -That is a sweet thing to do :)

MrGrimm888's avatar

I’ve whorne titianium watches before. They still break….

Sagacious's avatar

No. No jewelry. I don’t live by the clock anymore but when I need to be somewhere at a certain time I will be.

LadyMarissa's avatar

I opt to wear a Timex Triathlon. It’s not pretty, but it is functional & they last for years!!! I mainly wear it because it’s water resistant & I can jump in the shower without worrying about it stopping!!!It also has a stop watch & a lap tracker which comes in handy when I’m working with my ADHD kids.

SEKA's avatar

^ I like the ladies Timex. It’s smaller and a bit daintier than the regular one. You’re right, they last forever. I had one that lasted 8 years or so and I think I paid about $40 for it. That averaged out to about $5 per year. Can’t beat it

LuckyGuy's avatar

@Sagacious and I have the same taste and habits. I don’t wear a watch. I don’t really need one. But if I’m supposed to be at a location at a certain time I’ll be there.

KNOWITALL's avatar

Sad to see there’s no Swatch wearers, those were so cool! I had two.

raum's avatar

Swatch watches are cool but they’re kind of pricey now!

KNOWITALL's avatar

@raum Some are, still some cool designs, too.

raum's avatar

I like the watch band loop on this one

KNOWITALL's avatar

Get one, we can swap bands like in hs in 1986 haha!

raum's avatar

—Officially went down a Swatch rabbit hole.—

LadyMarissa's avatar

i would still be wearing a Swatch IF they had become water resistant!!!

raum's avatar

Yes! That’s how my old Swatch died. sniff

nightwolf5's avatar

No, other than my water resistant watch I wear while swimming at the public pool. Easier for me to quickly see the time, and when it’s close for me to get out.
