Normally I like the rain. But I just dropped 6+ grand on woodworking equipment and the humidity is being a problem. I just glued up 70 bucks worth of hard maple and walnut. Ran it through the drum sander, perfect flat beautiful board. Then I brought it in the house.
As it dried it got twisted and the joints pulled apart. Where my tools are is essentially outside except with a aluminum roof to block the rain. Unless we just rebuild the entire garage humidity will always be a problem. A heater or de-humidifier out there would be pissing electricity into the wind.
So I am waiting for summer to roll around. I have tons of shit like a desk, tv stand, bookcases, little kitchen thing that I want to make.
But I am not going to buy lumber if it just breaks apart once I move it indoors.
