If life is like a box of chocolates, do you eat your favorites first or last?

“Great Question” (3points)

Not really using the simile, I’ve been eating a box of Godivas that were sent to me for Easter and I’ve found myself eating my least favorites first to savor the “best” last.

What about you? This is a fluff question for some light relief so putting it in Social. Take it any way you’d like. (Possibly NSFW)

I tend to delay gratification.

I shall save my true answer til last as it will undoubtedly be the best!

Best first here, get it while you can!

janbb's avatar

@ragingloli I’m too scared to even open your link. Is it a box of dead babies?

canidmajor's avatar

I always save the best for last!

janbb's avatar

@canidmajor Do you like the caramels best?

zenvelo's avatar

Out of a box of See’s Nuts and Chews, I always choose the almond cluster first. But then I alternate between my very favorites and my less favorite.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

It almost sounds like the marshmallow test.
I can usually wait for the good ones but it depends on whether or not I have competition for the caramels. :)

First, first, first!

janbb's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille I guess you and I had better not share a box of chocolates. There would be blood!

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@janbb -So you won’t trade the caramels for the fruit/jelly things? XD

janbb's avatar

^^ Not a chance, buster!

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@janbb – Why don’t you like them?

canidmajor's avatar

@janbb, I’m less of a caramel person and more of a solid chocolate or crepe filled, or with nuts. We might do OK, together.

janbb's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille I like them all, except maybe the coconut ones, but I LOVE the caramels!

chyna's avatar

Caramel is my favorite too. I can’t share with you people!

Does no one here like the brandy filled ones?

janbb's avatar

Nope. I do like the cherry cordials though.

jca2's avatar

I usually save the best part of a meal for the last, but when it comes to a box of chocolates, I eat my favorites first. The ones I don’t like, I may never eat, I may just discard them.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@jca2 Same here! I thought I was the only one who threw away chocolates I didn’t like haha!

jca2's avatar

@KNOWITALL: I feel like life is too short to waste calories on food I don’t like!

janbb's avatar

@jca2 I agree with that.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@jca2 Agree!!

@janbb My husband mocks me relentlessly about cherry cordials. One box a year doesn’t hurt but Lord I hear about it the whole Christmas month.

What a very cool question.
I save my favorites for last.

si3tech's avatar

With a box of chocolates I will eat my favorite ones first.

raum's avatar

Depends on whether or not I have competition.

janbb's avatar

^^ Perfect answer!

So, the “holy trinity” that lends credence to saving the best to last is…

Foreplay
Sex
Sleep

Yes, I took it there & I know…what a surprise!

sleep
waking up already started
multiples before breakfast

<— slow learner

@janbb Took me a few years of having my older brother eating the ones I had saved for last.

If you always eat your favorites first your range of favorites will decrease. Like the old guy that just wants meat and potatoes. You can’t acquire acquired tastes, by definition, if you don’t go through the process. And here is where I am maybe controversial: The very best things in life ARE acquired tastes.
