I am freaking out.
I can’t deal with 4 more years of 2020!

Demosthenes's avatar

I am feeling content with California state propositions; nearly all of them are going the way I voted (so far).

I am still fairly certain that Trump will win the presidential election as I have been all year. This election so far has gone more smoothly than I thought it would (re. snafus and intimidation). It will be an interesting day tomorrow.

Disappointed

gorillapaws's avatar

Bernie would have won hours ago…

This is just proof that the party would rather lose to Trump than win with a progressive. Biden still may barely squeak it out, but this should be a landslide victory. Trump would have destroyed Biden if we didn’t have COVID.

My hope is people on the left will finally wake up and realize that a 3rd party is the only way forward to prevent more Trumps in the future. Trump is a symptom, neoliberalism is the cause.

I’m a bit nauseated that this country has so many people in it who are willing to vote for Trump, even if/after he loses. As awful as Trump is, and as awful as another 4 years would be, even worse is that there are that many people who would vote for the awful.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Sick.

anniereborn's avatar

@Zaku I agree with you completely. I thought this would be a landslide. America frightens me.

ragingloli's avatar

It is what I expected, really.

The Night They Drove Old Glory Down
My apologies to “The Band” as I tweaked their lyrics a bit.

“We The People” is the name
And I served on the freedom train
‘Til the China Virus came
And they tore up the tracks again
In the winter of the economy dive
We were locked down, or just barely alive
By November 3, capitalism fell
It’s a time I remember, oh so well

The night they drove Old Glory down
And all her bells were ringing
The night they drove Old Glory down
And all the liberals were singin’, they went, La, na na na

Back in the USA as it use to be
When that day I called to thee
“People quick, come see
There goes the home of the free”
Now, we do mind choppin’ good
And we do care if the money’s no good
You take from the rich to give to the masses
But they should never have crushed the middle classes

The night they drove Old Glory down
And all her bells were ringing
The night they drove Old Glory down
And all the liberals were singin’, they went, La, na na na

Like the land before me
USA will remain the brand
And like the countries around me
I now take a banana stand
I was just 250, proud and brave
But socialists laid me in my grave
And I swear by the blood around my feet
You can’t raise a dream back up when it’s in defeat

The night they drove Old Glory down
When all her bells were ringing
The night they drove Old Glory down
And all the people were singin’, they went, La, na na na

I’m good. If nothing else maybe we’ve all learned that each side is firmly entrenched in their beliefs. Record voters mean less apathy which is a good thing.

And all the people were singin’ La, na na na…

Trump has declared himself winner and . . . it is only wishful thinking on his part !

I’m feeling he doesn’t know what is happening.

Nomore_lockout's avatar

I’m on the verge of singing the Blues. Race is too close for me, for all that I only voted Biden as the lesser of two evils. I still, and will, feel the Bern.

rockfan's avatar

I don’t like Biden, but I still voted for him, mainly because less people are going to die from Covid under his administration. I’m really depressed by the fact that many people in this country don’t care and still voted for Trump.

tedibear's avatar

I am feeling unsurprised. I thought this would end up being a very tight race, and that we wouldn’t have an answer this morning. (Wednesday.) I doubt we will have a complete answer tomorrow, though we will be closer.

KNOWITALL's avatar

I’m glad Missouri elected our first black female congresswoman in Cori Bush.

hmmmmmm's avatar

^ Cori Bush winning is great! She is a fellow DSA member, supporter of M4A, tuition-free state college and trade school, BDS supporter, supports defunding pentagon & police, etc.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@hmmmmmm Yes, it’s shockingly progressive, I hope she can get some things accomplished for the greater good.

crazyguy's avatar

I feel fine. I wanted Trump to win, but I can live with an essentially unfilled Presidency for 4 years. It is obvious what Wall Street wants: a divided government that, without the firepower of Trump, will do nothing at all.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

And maybe @crazyguy, a half a million less dead bodies from COVID-19 !

Nomore_lockout's avatar

I’m wondering if its safe enough now to lay down and take a snooze. Been up all night and half the day sweating the damn election. Biden has majority of electoral votes, and over half the popular vote.

jca2's avatar

I’m feeling like even if Biden has the majority of electoral votes, Trump is going to try to find a way to cry foul and get his pals in the Supreme Court to vote in his favor, after legal challenges all over the country.

Nomore_lockout's avatar

@jca2 I fear you’re correct. Bet if Hillary had done that, Repubs would still be crying about it to this day.

jca2's avatar

Repubs are still crying about Hillary and Obama – it’s crazy.

Yeah for sure, if Hillary did legal challenges the Repubs would be complaining for decades to come.

jca2's avatar

They already want a recount in Wisconsin.

Nomore_lockout's avatar

People in hell want ice water, Screw ‘em.

Aster's avatar

Tired from being all wound up last night and confused about the election results. With each word I hear Trump is losing to Biden. I bet Trump is on a rampage! Of course. he’s planning a lawsuit.

stanleybmanly's avatar

He’s already declared several lawsuits to stop ballot counting in a bundle of states

Nomore_lockout's avatar

He’s washed up. Think Biden has it. Waiting on Mishigan and Nevada.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

Think Trump has spent $250,000 on lawyers just to fight having them continue to count votes !

filmfann's avatar

Trump is unhappy, and wants to go to the Supreme Court.
He is a Karen.

Yellowdog's avatar

People get unhappy when there are more votes cast in a state than registered voters in that state.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@Yellowdog I’ve been waiting to see who would go there first. That’s all over my social’s.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

SOURCES PLEEZE @Yellowdog ” . . when there are more votes cast in a state than registered voters in that state.”

Or are you telling me Trump supporters voted twice like he said to ? ? ?

Dutchess_III's avatar

Breaking…Biden won Michigan.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Tired. And Jesus. When is McDonald’s going to start serving all day breakfast again? I’m starving!!!!

Dutchess_III's avatar

Hopefully many were stupid enough to try to do just that @TW. We need that gene pool cleared.

jca2's avatar

@Tropical_Willie: You should know by now that @Yellowdog will rarely post a link, and if he does, it will be from some obscure right-wing sites with “Patriot” in the name.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@Dutchess Your state wasnt blue either, sista. Haha!

Dutchess_III's avatar

it was for a little while…sniff.

Dutchess_III's avatar

@TW you should know by.now that Yellowcard just makes shit up and spews it out. Of course he has no sources because he’s just making stuff up!

hmmmmmm's avatar

^ How dare you. What, www.bideneatsbabies.truth isn’t a good enough source?

ragingloli's avatar

See?! The dEePsTaTe rEpTiLoIdS have already deleted the website!

Dutchess_III's avatar

LOL!!

crazyguy's avatar

@KNOWITALL I thought @Dutchess_III is a Georgia peach. Last time I checked, her state has not been called.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Kansas went Republican. Vomit.

tedibear's avatar

The numbers that @Yellowdog is referring to, i think, have to do with registered voters in Wisconsin in 2018 being compared to the number of votes tallied in 2020. This, of course, has already been debunked by independent fact checkers.

SavoirFaire's avatar

Fact check: Wisconsin did not have more votes than registered voters.

And as noted in the article, Wisconsin allows same-day voter registration. So it’s completely irrelevant how many voters were registered prior to election day.

crazyguy's avatar

@Dutchess_III Sorry, my bad. I thought, for some reason, that you are a Georgia gal.
